Qualifications Must have a valid California teaching credential OR an Emergency Permit and a fingerprint clearance. You are eligible to apply for an Emergency Permit if you have a 4-year degree and have passed a CBEST test. Contact Humboldt County Office of Education, 445-7039, to apply for an Emergency Permit. Department of Justice fingerprint clearance must be completed prior to the
first day of employment at a cost of $62 to the employee.
