Special Circumstances Instructional Aide (SCIA)
Freshwater School is looking for a Special Circumstances Instructional Aide to work individually with students who need additional behavior and academic support in the 2024-2025 and the 2025-26 school years.
This position is 6.5 hours per day
10 month Probationary position

One year successful experience as a classroom assistant or experience working with students with special needs preferred. SCIA will provide direct instruction and instructional support to an identified student as determined by his/her IEP; will monitor and report student progress regarding behavior, performance and instructional interventions.
Previous experience as a one-on-one aide is not required and training will be provided.

Salary $18.73 - $21.08/hour, DOE
Qualifications Requires graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of experience working with children. Two years of college training related to psychology, child development, or education may be substituted. Passage of the Paraprofessional Exam required.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
