The Special Education Teacher in a Resource Specialist Program shall report directly to the designated program administrator and assume responsibility for the implementation of students’ educational plans as well as serve as an integral member of the team, which performs student assessments, designs instructional plans and reviews student program. The Special Education Teacher provides individual, small group, and whole-class instruction as appropriate according to Federal, Master Plan, and school-level requirements for individuals with exceptional needs.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
1. Education: A Bachelor’s degree, including all courses needed to meet and maintain credential requirements.
2. Credential: An appropriate, valid, California State Teaching Credential to teach mild/moderate and/or
moderate/severe students in a Resource Specialist Program or Special Day Class.
3. Experience: A minimum of the completion of all student teaching required for the appropriate teaching
credential.
4. Personal Characteristics: Appearance, grooming, and personality that establish a positive example for
students. Better than average recommendations from student teaching supervisor or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic achievement, and classroom performance of the teacher.
