Qualifications | Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs management of the school kitchen. Plans, organizes, develops and implements policies and operational procedures which ensure adherence to District, State and Federal policies, regulations and guidelines pertaining to an effective and efficient food service program. Plans organizes and coordinates the preparation and dissemination of State and Federal required school lunch and breakfast related reports. Establishes and maintains standards for quality and quantity control, cleanliness and sanitation. Monitors and evaluates the purchasing, receiving, storage and distribution of food and nonfood items, supplies and equipment. Attends personnel in-service and orientation training programs. Assists food service personnel in determining appropriate course of action regarding solutions to unusual or unforeseen problems and concerns. Directs and coordinates the preparation of specifications for food service supplies, materials and equipment. Participates in the testing and selection of new food service products, supplies, and materials and equipment. Plans, develops and implements a preventative maintenance program for food service facilities and equipment. Prepares, cooks, and bakes a variety of foods and baked goods, including cakes, cookies, breads, rolls, vegetables and a variety of entrees. Reviews recipes and menus, and estimates needed ingredients and the time required for the cooking and the baking of foods and baked goods. Tastes foods to ensure that the foods are properly seasoned. Washes and scours pot, pans, and other equipment, and properly stores cooking utensils. Assists in the receiving, inspecting, wrapping and storing of foodstuffs, supplies and materials. Assists in inventory control and in the requisitioning of foodstuffs, supplies and materials. May lead and coordinate the activities of other food service personnel in the maintenance of the food service facility and equipment in an orderly, clean, safe and sanitary condition. Maintains records and prepares reports as required. May assist in the training of food service personnel. The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and show proof of eligibility to work in the United States |
