BUDGET MANAGER, 1.0 FTE, 8 HRS/DAY, 5 DAYS/WEEK
Fortuna Elementary School District is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Budget Manager to oversee District finances and ensure fiscal integrity. This 12-month management position plays a vital role in supporting students and staff by managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and guiding leadership decisions. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, school finance knowledge, and a collaborative spirit to our team.

Salary $70,648 - $98,715 DOE. Generous benefit package for employee and family with small share of cost.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a strong background in governmental and/or fund accounting, with at least five years of progressively responsible fiscal experience, including advanced-level accounting and financial reporting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred, along with supervisory or management experience. Experience in California public school finance, including knowledge of LCFF, state and federal funding sources, Education Code requirements, and school district budget development, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to analyze and prepare complex budget and financial reports, provide fiscal guidance to administrators and the Board of Trustees, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Proficiency with computerized accounting systems and Excel is required, along with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure of multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
