EL Wellness Technician, Probationary Position

The EL Wellness Technician is an integral part of teaching and learning at Pacific Union School. The EL Wellness Technician is a part of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports and school community. This requires the EL Wellness Technician to work in partnership with classroom teachers and support staff. This position also oversees the English Language Proficiency Assessment of California (ELPAC) assessments of students whose primary language is other than English and provides English Language Development (ELD) lessons to students individually or in small groups. Building community is part of the role of the El Wellness Technician by chairing the DELAC committee and acting as the liaison between community agencies and the school.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
• Fluent Spanish Speaker
• At least 2 years of College Experience (Associates Degree)
• At least 2 years of experience working with children and/or in a library setting
• Ability to navigate technology, library systems, and stay current policies and procedures
• Ability to collaborate and work with volunteers, staff, students, and community members
• Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized schedule and working environment

Desired Qualification:
• *Wellness I or II Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire

The Holistic Wellness Coach (HWC) I/II is a state- certification established by California’s Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) as part of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative. The EL Wellness Technician will integrate prevention and intervention services that promote behavioral health and well-being in a supportive role with K-8 students, families, and staff as part of the Pacific Union Team.
