| Qualifications | 7th-8th Grade Math and Science Teacher Position Summary The Middle School Teacher provides engaging, student-centered instruction primarily in Math and Science. The teacher supports students academically and socially while creating a positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment. The teacher will co-teach with another 7th-8th grade teacher at a small charter Montessori middle and high school in Arcata. Primary Responsibilities Plan and deliver instruction primarily in middle school Math and Science. Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of student learning needs. Assess student learning and monitor academic progress. Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administration. Work closely with co-teacher to plan project-based assignments and share teaching responsibilities. Communicate with students and families regarding student progress. Support students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and other identified learning needs as appropriate. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school activities, and student supervision. Maintain required student records, grades, and documentation. Perform other duties as assigned based on student, program, and school needs. Qualifications Appropriate California teaching credential or authorization for the assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with middle school students and teaching Math and/or Science for that age group. The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and show proof of eligibility to work in the United States |
