Qualifications:
High school graduate and passage of the paraprofessional exam or 48 college semester units. Must hold Certificate of Interpretation (CI). Must provide proof of vaccinations, including Covid-19. One year successful experience as a classroom instructional assistant or experience working with students with special needs. Knowledge of sign system required by student, methods and techniques used in communication with deaf and hard of hearing children, technical signs and/or vocabulary used in classes to which assigned and Code of Ethics prepared by the Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf.
